“Samovar Tea Party” 56x56 inches Signed and Numbered Print on Canvas Limited Edition Giclee

“Samovar Tea Party”

In olden times, Russian people believed that each ‘samovar’ had a soul because of the mysterious sounds that samovars made when heating water. Each samovar made different sounds, as if they were communicating and singing - each in its own way. Soprano, mezzo, baritone, bass - you could assemble a whole metal choir! As we see on the canvas, samovars had not only souls and voices but
also bodies… And what bodies! In this painting, you can enjoy the sparkling appearance of the shiny armored ‘host’. He stands proudly and pompously, realizing his significance and importance for this table. He is the center and grandmaster of the reception awaiting guests.

The “host’s” presence is joyfully accompanied by an abundance and beauty of cheerful folk objects - a richly woven carpet, a snow-white festive tablecloth with a bright red pattern, and a napkin embroidered with berries… A very beautiful and lush bouquet crowns the table and competes with the samovar.

The magnificent rose delights viewers with its size and fragrance. The artist masterfully works in a practically forgotten manner of the ‘Old Dutch’. This style is very delicate and meticulous, requiring a colossal amount of time to convey images and objects realistically. The process requires no less than seven layers of paint and many months of painting maturity.Translucency of colors and airy lightness of brushwork results in charming vividness and magnificence. The Master is very generous – the abundance and variety of ripened fruits is painted with astonishing realism. They radiate pure optimism and joy; even a sliced lemon that
causes sourness and tartness does not spoil the feeling of celebration! So, the Master welcomes us to the ‘Samovar Party’!

These embellishments can include brushstrokes, texture, and other elements that give the print a more personalized and authentic feel. An artist paints or draws in areas of choice to add texture, making a giclee look even more like an original than it already does. Limited Editions Embellished Giclees are typically produced in a limited quantity, and each one is signed and numbered by the artist.
